Energetic youthful Zathu Band has reiterated on calls for Malawian youths to be united regardless of their sexes as the grouping is poised for its maiden album release, Chinzathu ichichi on 19th February this year.
Announcing the news during “Chinzathu ichichi ” album listening party on 9th of February 2018 at Zathu offices in Lilongwe, one of the band members, Nyokase Madise revealed that the album promotes unity for both boys and girls for the betterment of the country.
“We are trying to preach out that girls and boys must join forces and create something beautiful; that aside, the album will also tackle our challenges as youths,” she revealed.
Madise further revealed that the album is targeting all Malawians regardless of age.
“We are putting out big and massive album, we are coming for you Malawi, it’s for everyone, for the youths, and even the elderly. Chinzathu ichichi is bridging the generation gap,” said Madise.
Commenting on one of the songs that was premiered on the same day, ‘Malawi’, Zathu Media ambassador and also a journalist with Zodiak Broadcasting Station, Stanley Mpinganjira, applauded the mixture of genres in the song saying it makes the song so captivating.
“I like the fusion of typical Malawi ‘Chitelera’ touch and fast paced African instrumental… these have been spiced up by well delivered poetry piece towards the end of the song. This is so captivating,” praised Mpinganjira.
The listening party was attended by members of the audience from different backgrounds including Zathu Media ambassadors, fashion designer, Lilly Alfonso, and gospel guru, Faith Musa, among others.
The 11 tracked album, which includes the already existing three songs, will be the first album from the young stars since its birth mid last year.
The songs are expected to be premiered on MBC radio two’s MADE ON MONDAY program hosted by Dj Joy Nathu. Like always Zathu will make the album free to download on their website.
