“2017 Mzuzu Fashion industry should expect nothing but magnificent designs that are going to leave lasting impacts!”
That is the message 33-year-old Lilongwe based fashion design guru, Clement Sato of ZaClemoh designs is promising the would-be audience at this year’s event.
ZaClemoh designs is no stranger to the fashion-designing world. It needs no introduction at all.
And the proprietor, Sato has a story that is almost similar to most of the designers who are to showcase their wares at this’s event; chasing his dreams.
His eagerness to accomplish his childhood dream is now rewarding him positively. As he recalls, his rising to stardom was almost inevitable.
“I knew I was going to end up being in the fashion designing industry. My late father would buy me clothes which I would sometimes want to alter and make them look as I want them so I would re-design and when people started to like my designs, I decided to take it seriously,” he recalls.
The energetic Sato boasts that his ZaClemoh products are enthralling and on point from the finishing to the fitting.
“I know it’s kinda funny but we don’t give carry bags to our customers because we don’t want to keep them away from staring at such royalty after collection,” he elucidated.
The Lilongwe based fashion designer feels that stakeholders have a huge role to play in the fashion designing industry because the industry is in dare need of them.
“Stakeholders should sponsor various fashion events, encourage different partnerships and deal with fashion brands in the country but also involve local designs and models in shoots for Ads because this would be supporting our own talents and brands,” he explained.
Clement Sato is restless about the 2017 Mzuzu Fashion week because he and his team have prepared for the event in style and are looking forward to outstand the rest.
“We will showcase one of the best collections and people just have to be ready because we are so proud of what we do and trust we are the best.”
The event organizers have always delivered and we are impatient to see everything a success. All in all, we expect to grow our clientele and take our brand further, explained Sato.
Sato’s clothing line has had affair share of challenges along the way. He has observed a number of set-backs that he feels need to be address for the smooth rise of the industry.
“Although we are progressing, but I’ve observed that some of us are copying other people’s fashions. It happens everywhere but it shouldn’t be a big issue here in the industry if we are to grow. People should be creative,” he advised.
