Is this a weekend? Technically no!!!practically yes!!! No doubt about that!!!

As we clock 53 years of independence, sidelining the hiccups our entertainment sector is still facing, there’s still a lot to smile about.

Various entertainment joints will be fun-packed this Independence festivity as lots of events have been lined- up country-wide; missing them is at your own peril! will face still the nation will be showered with lots of entertainment.

KASUNGU, WHERE THE PARTY’S AT?

Ka-sir-Blanca, the Archaida charge, has a special gift for Malawi as he is releasing his long awaited More-Lyrics Mix Tape at Kay Jay Peez Garden in Kasungu. For all those who know, if The charge is there, it means one thing, and one thing alone; yoh yoh!!! The Archaida Universe is also there!!

There’ll be more gun shots as the Gun boss, the Archaida General, Malinga Mafia is the guest artist. Supported by Kay Stevoh, Young Lt, Govanna and many more. A show that you don’t have to miss. By 1 PM, KUs, this is where to be!

UFULU FESTIVAL @ CIVO STADIUM

On 6 July, Malawi’s Birthday. Civo Stadium will host the award winning DJ, Joy Nathu, award winning best gospel artist, Gwamba, Ethel Kamwendo, Suffix, Faith Musa, Theo Thomson and whole lots of Urban artists in celebrating our birthday, the Independence day.

You don’t need to get wary as the event is literary free of charge. The purpose of this festivity is to appreciate the various cultural creativity in form of dances, fun run and a lots of astonishing activities. Just by the look of the lineup, don’t expect me to comment! Moto moto wayaka at Civo. (9AM—6 PM)

CLASH OF THE TITANS: SOLDIER MEETS MA BLACKS @ LIVINGSTONIA BEACH, & M1 CENTRE POINT

When the Legends share the stage, there’s epic happiness. Soldier Lucious Banda and his Zembani Band entourage are gonna be face to face with The Black Missionaries and Mr cool, Anthony Makondesa on 7th July at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach (Salima).

Later on, the entourage will trek to capital city’s M1 Center point on the 9th of July. You wanna be there? Just have the new guy in town, plus our dear old friend; brother Aloe Vera, and you’re good to go. The shows start 8;30 PM

8th July; Mount Mulanje Porters’ Race

Sonye, and Faith Mussa will headline this year’s breath-taking 22 kilometer Mount Mulanje porter’s race. This is where passion overtakes the lust for money as many a participant push theirselves to the limit so as to conquer this gigantic island in the sky.

The rocks are hazardous, and the paths are small, running is at your own risk!!!

This, is not for the faint-hearten.

The Carlsberg Street Bash; Blantyre

Entertainment doesn’t get better than a Carlsberg bash on an independence week! Mablacks, Lucious Banda, Edgar ndi Davis, Skeffa Chimoto, Freddohkiss, and a whole lot of the who and who’s in the music circles are going to lock horns down town BTz during a Carlsberg Street Party Independence Celebrations.

With just three Carlsberg bottles, you’re assured of this maximum fun-tainment from Saturday, 2 PM all the way till you drop on Sunday.

When Mikozi Organize an Event, the audience regrets not for having parted ways with their kobos. Come 9th July, Mikozi invades Zomba with THE WINTER URBAN SHUT DOWN at Domino, the heart of the old Capital, Zomba, with performances by Toast ,Charisma ,Tsar Leo, Kelvin sings, Chavula and many more urban artists. It’s not a weekend, if it’s not Mikozi! You know what I mean!! By 1 PM, all is gonna be on.

It’s Mzuni Social Weekend, the weekend that will never disappoint you. Apart from being mesmerized by stage performances courtesy of Hyphen, Atoht Manje and the Apsye   Mtima star, Malceba, the intelligentsia will be keeping glued to the stage to witness who is going to be their King, and Queen of 2017.

From Friday till Sunday, it’s gonna be motoo buu pa Mzuni!!!

WELCOME TO THE ‘WORLD’ (SATURDAY, THE 8TH)

The Malawi school’s certificate of examinations are but almost over by this coming weekend. Traditionally, the ‘youthful brains’ have always been welcomed to the world in readiness for their next course of action in their lives. So, as usual, there are always fun-dazzling activities for the same. This weekend is no different.

  1. Zolozolo CDSS

It’s a Welcome to the world Music party with, Ril B, Leo G aka The Reggae maestro and “Mkazi Moto” Lady pace, that will be burning the roof there. Come Saturday, the 8th of July, by 1 PM, Zolozolo will be the place to be.

  1. Tarnex Entertainment: Boma Park

Same date. Same city. A similar activity. Different organizers. Different venues, and of course a different team of urban artists. That sums up this WELCOME TO THE WORLD jinx in Mzuzu as Tarnex Entertainment has also organized a massive show at Mzuzu Boma Park as Delilah hit maker, Saint, and Chindekha star, Vube, will go head to head with the Black Face family and many others in welcoming the newly ordained school leavers into the real world.
