Up and coming rapper- cum TV presenter, Mellz, is set to drop Take Note album by the end of May 2018, it has been learnt.

The album is to feature well established artists such as Piksy, Toast, Bucci, Spyral, Kay Major, Bhizzo, Tuno, Shammah vocals, Seven O more, Struktic Rainne, and Team Sosha.

According to the artist, who also hosts Zamajibidi Exclusive show, an urban music program which promotes up and coming urban artists on Angaliba TV and Radio, promises nothing but fireworks in his album.

“I’ve planed massive tunes from my album, so people should just be on the lookout,” he promises.

Mellz, born Mellanie Msumba, has been in the industry for about eight years now. However, he came into the limelight a few years ago with his popular tune, Kontrol, a collabo with Team Sosha, a Blantyre based duo.

According to him, it is not easy to make oneself known musically, in the country. He says it is such an observation that he introduced his popular TV, and Radio programs so as to unearth raw talents in the urban music circles countrywide.

“As one of the artists who has had difficulties in promoting my music, I know the struggles raw talents undergo so as to make a name. So my (TV) program aims at assisting fellow musicians mostly those to do with urban music.” He reveals.

Mellz’ rap career has been inspired by the likes of Dr. Dre, BoB, Jason Derulo, Rugged Man, Hopsin as well as local artist Piksy.

During his career, he has worked with prominent artists such as Toast, Wanga Kid and Structic Rainne who also happens to be the producer of his upcoming album.

Academically, he pursued media studies at HBI Institute of Communication and Management, and secondary education at Nazarene Mission secondary school.

To all up and coming artists, Mellz say they should keep on pushing until they see the light of the day.

“I urge all Malawian music artists to work harder than they do to reach the unlimited levels… All that’s needed is faith” He advised.
