Iconic rapper, Classick once described “Ubwino” as the new face to put Malawi’s multimedia industry on the map”. This was after the youngster had shot the former’s usual teasers, titled “intro”. Classick was right. Ubwino is just young; just a year after 20. His creativity in the industry however would make you feel he has been in the game for as many as his birth years.
If the above sentiments may seem more glamorous that the reality on the ground, then perhaps KIM of Diamond’s “Heart go” would surely erase all your doubts. Simply put, “Ubwino” is in a class of his own. For sure, his name is slowly going to be on your lips days in day out; assuming it’s not yet there already.
Motion pictures aside, still photograph from this multi-media whizkid would also easily sway you. He has got a touch that is totally miles apart from most of the established professionals in the game.
Already, he is winning the hearts of many established urban music artists. Ubwino’s products will surely going to be on every corner of Malawi, and likely beyond in the next few years. Mark these words!

HOW HE STARTED
Passion. There is no better word to explain how Ubwino found hisself into this lucrative business. Sheer curiosity for the camera from way back.
“It started like a drama way back. I used to be shooting friends’ music videos via my mobile handset. I could edit using Kinemaster for Android. Later on I got more interested and now here I am.” He recalls.
Being a multi-media producer
To him, being in the multi-media industry is a big thing.
“It needs somebody who’s willing to move an extra mile and being disciplined. These are some of the cores of this industry,” he enlightens.
Locally, Ubwino is a fan of L’automne, Ghettofiga,Thume,Vj Ice ,Eric Chan,Vinny Visuals, among the many others whilst internationally, Clarence Peter is his man.
Ubwino cherishes his first professional music video as the most memorable moment in his otherwise youthful multimedia production career.
“This day I had to call a friend to assist me with operating the desirable camera settings as I was still not yet conversant with some of them,” he recalls.
