In human life, there is one non-renewable resource that most of our Malawian youths tend to ignore, Time. This is the resource that can make or break our future. This is the difference between one’s success, and one’s damnation. The way you manage your time has a direct relationship with the quality of your output.

Poor time management skills result in more than just not satisfying your given tasks, or an unproductive day. Wasting your time means you’ll constantly be in motion, trying to fight to complete important tasks at the last minute.

Good time management skills, on the other hand, has a positive impact on your performance in whatever endeavors you involve yourself into. Here’s how.

  There is priotisation of work

Good time management skills partly involve knowing when to do what is immediate and important. Being able to recognize work that needs focus at the right time is a skill that is important to achieving career success.

When you are able to understand what is important, you will attend to the very things that need your focus. You become more effective. Becoming efficient and effective at your workplace will obviously contribute significantly to your career success.

There is an Efficiency of Your Work

Efficiency of work comes with having good time management. Effective use of your time means you accomplish more in the least possible time. Being able to manage your time well gives you a competitive advantage over your fellow employees. You get more done and hence you get to be entrusted to more important projects that will be available

That aside, you become a competitive advantage to your area of field. This translates to better performance score, more trust and respect from colleagues and bosses. The importance of time management in this aspect should be kept in mind if you want to reach higher in the corporate field or your career.

You avoid the inconveniences that come with the limitation of time

Most people tend to relax forgetting that they have a co-worker who spends sleepless nights working on what they have not started yet and they feel the reward will be the same. They say ‘no amount of gold will buy you time that has been lost.’

Knowing that time is a limited resource, you would naturally need to cherish it. People get promoted out of time management. If you are a lazy borne, or disorganized, you end up having the same position for years with no improvement. After all, deadlines to work will continue to inch closer to you whether or not you have started or you are slow on it.

Once time is lost, you can never make up for it. Your work will have to be compromised if you did not manage your time well. You have to acknowledge the importance of finding a way to manage this limited resource.

Let’s face it! Once you perform your chores in time, you have a piece of mind. It allows you to take control of your life rather than using the take of others. As you accomplish more each day, make more sound decisions, and feel more in control, people note.

Potential Leaders in your business will come to you when they need to get things done. And that increased exposure helps put you in line for advancement opportunities. Furthermore, you got more knowledge and apply in your field without problems. The more you learn about your company and your industry, the better your chances of making a positive impression on the organization or your career.

Once you learn how to manage your time, you no longer subject yourself to frequent stress. Besides, it being better for your health, you have a clearer picture of the demands on your time. You’re better able to estimate how long a given task will take you to complete, and you know you can meet the deadline. Everyone needs time to relax and unwind. Unfortunately, though, many of us don’t get enough of it. So manage your time properly to avoid the feeling of having too much to do in just seconds.
