One of M-Dubz’ celebrated videographers, Sukez’s days in music video production may be numbered as his thoughts are now focused on full throttle video production.
Sukez, who recently earned a nomination for Founder of the Year accolade in 2018 Southern Africa start- up (SAS) Awards, said that though film industry is at embroidery stage in the country as compared to other countries in the SADC region, but Malawians has the capability of producing professional movies.
Said Sukez, “There is potential in the country as we can see that there are a lot of people coming out in the industry. As of now, each and every day people are shooting films and plays but the weaker side is that most of them do not have good equipment for long lasting quality videos.”
Having been in the game for far too long, (by Malawian videography standards), Sukez is convinced his experience plus the world-class equipment can make him a better ‘partaker’ in the movie industry.
“I feel I’m the missing link in the local videography world. It’s my conviction my coming may change one or two,” he hopes.
Against all odds, Sukez got his inspiration from the current trending movie, “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind”.
“That movie gave me the motivation that if I could step my foot into this industry, I think I can also make it. There are a lot of issues in Malawi that can culminate into some master-class movies,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sukez is working on finalizing some of the scripts he received from various writers in readiness for his new found ‘gold’.
“Right now we are analyzing the scripts we got from some people and we are sourcing funds so when we finalize that we will announce the dates but we are almost ready for that.” He revealed.
He however, disclosed that venturing into film industry does not mean that he would completely quit the music video shooting ventures.
