Call it “The best of both worlds!” Mzuzu is set to be musically exhilarated as legendary Soldier Lucius Banda and his Zembani Band are set to lock horns with one of the faces of current urban music industry, Martse, at Mzuzu Tourist lodge in a fiesta dubbed Urban meets Legend Music show on 30th June 2018.
First of its kind at the said venue, the show comes at a time Martse is working on his new album “Truth Only” which among others, has a re-fix of Lucius’ Mabala’ song; a feat the latter felt gratitude for.
It is with such background that fans will be expecting to see if Lucius Banda will join Mwano hit maker on stage to perform the song.
The move to feature two extremely different artists, generations-wise, according to the organizers, SWAG Entertainment, aims at bridging the generation gap musically.
The firm’s Chief Executive Officer, Francis Mkandawire believes such shows can have lasting impacts to both the young and the elderly as music is all about emotional connection.
“Entertainment focuses a special group of people. These artists have different fan bases, so bringing the best of both worlds would make this more of a family get together,” he reveals.
Meanwhile Mkandawire has bemoaned unethical conduct of some event organizers in the city for using dubious means to lure patrons in various musical shows. Of late, there has been a rife in circulation of posters having some popular artists who, on a particular day of performance, do not appear on stage.
“It’s very unfortunate that some event organizers fail to live up to their fans’ expectations. This dents our image as organizers and pulls back the sanity that we are working hard to bring into Mzuzu’s Arts and entertainment world.” Worried he.
Minus Lucius Band and his Zembani Band entourage, fans will also be entertained by the performances of hoarse voiced Nepman, Swag Entertainment’s Homage and a whole lot of up and coming artists in the city.
