Two of the country’s lyrically gifted urban artists who rocked 2017, UMP song of the year award winner, Macelba, and UMP song of the year nominee, Saint are set for a joint album release later this year, Entertainment Malawi can reveal.
EM’s interview with the Delilah star, Saint reveals the duo are in the booth cooking the unnamed album which is set for release later this year.
Meanwhile, the duo is set to release a song, Tchekela, a lead single for the impending album on the 29th of January 2018.
According to Saint, M-Dubz fans should expect nothing but surprises from the single, and the album in general.
“We’re putting our blood on it; we want it to be real perfect. We want to show Malawians what it means when they say art. Expect surprises,” he promised.
As to why the duo opted for each other, Saint said Macelba was everybody’s favorite hence the likely candidate for a high quality collabo.
“He (Macelba) is a top Hip-Hop artist right now. So, it’s very easy to come up with something nice with him” he revealed.
As we went to press, Macelba was yet to respond to our questions.
But when asked what Tchekela was all about, the versatile urban artist said Malawians should just wait and sample for themselves when the song is out.
“We don’t want to give a hint of what Tchekela is all about. We wanna take our audience by surprise,” he said.
Tchekela is a Tricky Beatz, and Sispence production. It comes at a time when the two youthful artists are at the top of their careers having conquered Malawi by storm in 2018. Macelba’s Apse Mtima song won the UMP’s song of the year Award, and Saint’s Delilah hit was also closer to scooping the said award.
