Another day, another EP in the offing. Blantyre-base Reggae dancehall artist, Prince Musiq has joined the bandwagon of fellow urban music artists in kick-starting 2020 with a bang as he plans to release Motivation EP on 20 January.
The EP is known for its first single Bestie, released late 2019 which features an award-winning dancehall artist Eli. The song has received positive feedback from music lover and has become one of the most played songs since its release.
According to the singer, the EP tackles from social issues affecting the urban youth in their various neighbourhoods in their everyday life through a making reflection of their daily life in the singer’s lyrics in which he addresses some of the issues and how they can overcome situations they are met with.
“As you grow in life you are met with different things and situations, some will help you to grow; some will crush you so the EP focuses on motivating the youths in their everyday life,” Prince said.
Motivation is the first record release since Prince Musiq debuted with the album That’s Life in 2018. With guest vocals by Eli and Leslie, the singer says it’s one of the greatest releases of his time, and has is planning on a nationwide tour.
“I have put in a lot of work in this EP, my fans should expect more shows this year; when I say more shows I mean country-wide and it will be like thanksgiving to my fans for the support since I joined this industry and I want to reach hard-to-reach areas to entertain my fans.” Explained Prince.
The EP was primarily produced by, Macia Beats, Veda, with additional production by Fobra T who also mastered most of the songs in the EP.
Meanwhile, the youthful artist is working on his new video which will follow the release of the EP.
