Friday, the 20th of September 2019 marked the day that Precious Kamanga drew a line with lazy people in his new song, “Hustle Anthem”.
Precious, known in the music circles as Prèkam described the song which has been produced by Madela and Wongie-kay beats as pure advice for the youths who would like to become successful.
“Hustle Anthem” is a wake-up call to all the youths who act bossy and lazy due to the support rendered to them by their relates without giving a thought to how much effort those people put in order to support such youths,” said Prèkam
Going through the lines of “Hustle Anthem”, one can easily note the emphasis Prèkam made to cement his viewpoint.
“So mostly like in the pre-hook ‘If you’re grinding so hard please gi’me five you fail after trying, that’s good and fine, If you’re lazy in my circle you don’t qualify, Am gonna hustle, you’re sleeping? Byee-bye”
The artist further observes that one’s environment does shape the attitude and behave iours of the modern day youths.
‘Birds of the same feathers, flock together’, ‘show me your friends and I’ll tell you who you are” he said while giving example of phrases in his song.
In his own words he said “Neither will you find ducks flying with Eagles; We need friends who will motivate us in one way or the other, they should have a positive reason to be kept.”
Prèkam said his love fpr hard workers has motivated pointing out that the names of people listed are not neccesary role models but the driving force for him to finish his song
“I’m not sure if the word role model will do because those people portray a very good definition of the word friendship. They’re the kind of people that challenge how I think, they work so hard and mostly they do not hide the truth. I remember one chased me away from WhatsApp and told me to go and write a song, so you can imagine, aren’t those friends to keep?” He quizzed
He cleared the point that treating poverty with anger is the only way it can be chased clearing it though he was honest to say he is not angry with lazy people
“Am not, but they do not qualify being in my circle if they’re happy with poverty and laziness. It’s better we grind for now, than pretend we’re okay.”
