MZUZU FASHION WEEK’S FEATURED DESIGNERS TO SHOWCASE PIECES AT AN INTERNATIONAL FASHION SHOW

As days draw closer to this year’s glitzy Mzuzu Fashion Week Event, two of the event’s featured designers, MisK (Kylie Uta Brown), and Za Clemoh (Clemoh Sato) have all the reasons to smile as their pieces are to be featured at the annual EMMS International Fundraiser Fashion Show in Scotland next month.

According to the press statement issued by Kwanza PR, the organizers of Mzuzu Fashion Week, MisK, and Za Clemoh will be amongst six other internationally acclaimed fashion designers, and boutiques who are showcasing latest winter collections at Summerhall, in the Scottish Capital, Edinburgh.

Proceeds from the event, which is to be staged on the 25th of October, are going to be channeled to Malawi to uplift the plight of a Malawian girl child. Countless times, a Malawian girl child has been sidelined in various aspects of life.

As the press statement further highlited, growing up as a lady is a hassle in Malawi.

“Being a girl and living in remote rural areas of Malawi is harder than we can imagine.”

So, by virtue of their attendance, MisK, and Za Clemoh will rub shoulders with other internationally acclaimed figures in the industry in the likes of Emma Roy of Edinburgh Wedding Boutique, and Halina North, the Gold Award winner at the London Graduate Fashion Week last year.

In attendance will also be Linda Fabiani, MSP, member of the Scottish National Party, and the Member of the Scottish Parliament for East Kilbride.

The organizers of the event, The Edinburgh Medical Missionary Society International (EMMS International) is a Scottish-based charitable organization which was founded in 1841 as the Edinburgh Association for Sending Medical Aid to Foreign Countries.

In 2002, it splited into the current EMMS International, and the Nazareth Trust.

EMMS International has served in various countries including Malawi, India, and Nepal, among others.

In Malawi, EMMS International boasts of funding various initiatives that are aimed at developing better health care services and women empowerment in health related issues.
