(Reggae music again – Busy Signal)

Such is the inspiration that one upcoming roots reggae artist, Well Kebra wants to revive in reggae music across Africa.

Born Wells Chimtondo on July 29 1993 in Mwanza, Well Kebra grew up listening to reggae greats in the likes of Bob Marley, Jah Cure, and of course Evison Matafale.

Growing up in the ghettos of Kawale, Well Kebra got inspired by the positivity that used to feel the air waves once he listened to reggae music back then.

Growing up listening to legends, Kebra managed to explore his musical talent and it was in 2009 that he pondered on active musical recording.

“I grew up listening to reggae icons like Bob Marley, Evison Matafale and Jah Cure who really inspired me to do music. Along the way, I also met friends like Real Lenzo and Lion heart who really led me into reggae music’’ he said.

Having ventured into active musical composition and recording, he made some headlines with songs like ‘’One Blood, and Bad Mind’’ among others.

Currently, he is working on producing a mixtape under the production of Trummel at Grapes records.

According to him the mix tape will be out within a month and he wants to reach out to all people who love pure reggae music.

“I want my music to reach all the people who love reggae music, like how Bob Marley and Peter Tosh did; they took reggae music to Paris and London and teach the good message through music” he narrated.

Apart from his musical side, Kebla is Rastafarian, and his name, according to him, means the ancient name of Africa.

“I am a rasta; a true African rasta; I follow all Rastafari teachings, and as I said, all my music is based on the teachings of wise one H.I.M’’ he said.

Music aside, Wellos Alkebulan is now currently studying computer science at Blantyre international university.
