Christopher Ace

If you don’t believe that dreams come true then you need to grab a cup of coffee with Christopher who recently was crowned Mr Valentine at Gland Palace under the event which was organized by Top City Entertainment in conjunction with Itel mobile company.

The event was his debut as a professional model and being crowned as the main man was not a mean achievement because there was a stiff competition on the day from other contestants who were also eying the top price.

Having learnt about his achievement now let us know more about this slim boy.

He had a chat with our reporter Duncan Kaonga.

Full Name: Christopher Tionge Makamo

Date of Birth: 27th September 1995

Place of Birth: Born in Pretoria South Africa but raised in Mzuzu, the northern capital of Malawi.

The meaning behind your name: Christopher has no such deep meaning was passed on by my uncle but the local name Tionge which means Praise so i guess my parents were grateful to God to give birth to me and I am Proud of it.

What drove you into the fashion industry: When I was in secondary school, I always had the eager to do modelling, I recall onetime I did cat-walk at the end of one school term and that gave me the confidence to do this again and again, it was like modelling inside me was waken up and that was the exodus of my modelling journey.

What has been the hiccups since you ventured into the industry: My modelling journey hasn’t been that easy for I was not being allowed to do this by my family and all this while I have been doing it behind their back but until last year I was set free from this denial and I was happy that I could finally do what I love most.

And the other major challenge is that we get underrated by people who think modelling is just a waste of time, so people always have a negative attitude over it which sometimes due to pressure from such people who don’t get the whole idea behind modelling we lose our confidence hence some quit but modelling is more than a hobby to most of us who do it.

Any projects in 2020: Expect extra-ordinary things this year, no serious project this year but be sure I won’t miss anything that comes my way, I will grab every opportunity as it comes.

How do you rate the fashion Industry in the country: Malawi fashion industry is the second-fastest-growing industry apart from music industry i can say we getting there, we are not there yet but we getting there.
