After years of waiting, the hour hath cometh. Celebrated award winning rapper, Martse has lined up with the who and whos in the local urban music in his debut album, Truth Only.
The album, which is but over will see Martse collaborating with the likes Bucci, Dan Lu, Purple C, Gwamba, Krazie G, Third eye and many others.
The debut album, under the main supervision of one of Malawi’s finest producers, AK marks almost a decade since Martse’s rising to stardom. Asked why it has taken him this long, the Mwano Star said time was not yet ripe for him.
“We should not do things that your soul is not ready to do. I couldn’t do it because someone called for it. It needed me to feel the same way. It’s not that if others are releasing albums, you too must follow suit; No! You must feel it, now I feel it and I’m going to do it,” challenged Martse.
Back to Truth Only, Martse promised his fans that the album is the genesis of his future self.
“The journey has now begun. I have already proven that I’m an artist in my singles. As for my fans, this is a different path now. I will give out the very best of Martse, so expect nothing but the best from me,” he promised.
Production-wise, almost all of the country’s familiar hands have had a touch in this forth coming album. AK, Chancy, Janta, Slow Beats, the Dare Devils, and Tricky Beatz are amongst the legion of producers who have ensured Truth Only materializes.
Meanwhile, EM can reveal that the album tracks are all set, and that the artist is waiting for an OK from his main producer, AK on the final track list.
“I wanted it to have 14 or 16 tracks, but then it is not a one-man decision. I have to sit down with AK and decide on which songs to pick or hold,” said Martse.
Dosage, a song the artist featured Bucci is the first single in the highly anticipated album, whose date of release, has been delayed as Martse is currently committed to academic works.
