“Challenges have been met especially on financial grounds but this did not stop us because we still believe that this event is for the great good,” he complained.

According to Goxy, various prizes have been lined up as the gala is set for various competitions whose proceeds will go to boost the university’s entertainment sector.

“I cannot disclose on the prizes to be dished out, but for sure prizes will be given and whatever we make from the fashion week will support the students’ union with resources like equipment for the institution so that we should not be hiring equipment for functions like these to happen,” he revealed.

Being a daughter of the Buy Malawi Campaign strategy, the event has set Black, Red and Green as the dress code; a meaning relating to the function.

“The dress code was picked to symbolize the solidarity and unity as Malawians; more so bearing in mind that we aim at promoting the economic strategy of buying our locally produced materials,” he expounded.
