Faces behind two of last year’s dancefloor shakers, Wangongole, and Apse Mtima, Janta, and Macelba respectively are set to rock Johannesburg (South Africa) this weekend, Entertainment Malawi can reveal.
The duo, who have been performing in Cape Town for some weeks now are having another showdown in Johannesburg on Saturday the 10th of February, at Ekwendeni also known as Cosmo city, and the following day at Alicats pub (Randburg) in the same city. The mega Pre-Valentines tour is courtesy of D-Square Entertainment.
As to the choice of the duo, CEO for D-square Entertainment, Daniel Nyirenda said the two are everybody’s favourite having repped Malawi last year via their popular songs, Apse Mtima (Macelba) and Wangongole (Janta).
“I chose Janta and Macelba because these two artists had hit songs in 2017. Janta released Wangongole which gained a lot of attention to his fans here (South Africa).
Macelba, on the other hand, has just won the UMP song of the year award with his hit, Apse Mtima. The song became a national anthem to everyone, even across the borders,” he explained.
Nyirenda then said these were the motivating factors people should flock to the two venues, as apart from the performances, various prizes and activities will also be part of the menu.
“People must expect scintillating performances from this duo. That aside, since it’s a Valentine’s month, there will be different prize-wining feats during this day,” he revealed.
On his part, Janta promised his fans a performance worth of their monies.
“I am ready for these shows and I can’t wait to give my fans what they want. They should expect nice and wonderful performance from me and my brother Macelba,” he promised.
The Johannesburg Mega Pre-Valentine show will be curtain-raised by notable South African-based Malawian urban artists like Black yut, Eddie, Big paul, Roy G, Chiho and many more.
