One of Mzuzu’s naturally gifted Reggae artists, Leo G (Sindine ofooka), real name Leo Gift Chione is set to release his first ever album, titled So Nostalgic later this year, EM can reveal.
In an interview with Entertainment Malawi (EM), the self-acclaimed Reggae Maestro said the album is more of positivity with an international touch that will add value to Malawian Music.
“So Nostalgic is a massive conscious dancehall reggae music with international touch hence more Reggae more positive Music that will add something onto our industry,” said Leo G
According to the artist, entertainment aside, the album is also going to be a calabash of knowledge as it is tackling various social issues Malawi is currently facing.
“So Nostalgic is an info-tainment master piece and mostly addresses the need for a Malawian youth to be independent by working hard to eliminate the dependency syndrome,” added he.
So Nostalgic, is a 15 track album that includes such hits as Talent from my Parents, Reggae is here, What a long Journey, Siine ofooka, and many more.
It is set to be launched in Mzuzu at the yet-to-be-mentioned venue.
The album has seen Leo G making collaborations with one of M-Dubz finest Divaz, Lady Pace in a song, True Love.
According to Leo G, this is a deliberate move to prove to the nation that Rap and Reggae can be fused under one roof.
“Some say Rap and Reggae can’t work out but this track’ll prove them wrong because it’s an evidence that impossible is nothing in the world of music,” he challenges.
The mix tape has seen Leo G working with various producers in the likes of Manzy Maker of Sound System Records, and GL of Records de Sean G and South African based producer, Jah Mai of White Apple records.
