After soaring with his previous album Bakha, renowned gospel musician, Thoko Katimba is in the limelight once again now announcing the release of a single Zikomo Ndaphunzira which is expected to be officially out this week.
Speaking in an exclusive Interview with EM, Katimba has revealed that Zikomo Ndaphunzira is an announcement of his forthcoming yet-to-be-named album later this year.
He says the song is a continuation of his famous story-telling antics that characterized the Bakha album.
“I thought of giving my fans something new and this single is a precious gift to my fans, and is a continuation of Bakha replica”, says the artist.
Again the artist, who is famed for his story-telling technics and incorporates different characters and situations in his compositions, says the single is also a continuation of his musical discoveries and has been greatly inspired by day to day life experiences for Christians and believers.
Sayshe, “Of course, I’m also making stories in this single deliberately, knowing that at the end, we can easily relate to spiritual matters for people’s salvation.”
Talking of the new album, the soft-voiced gospel music icon promises nothing but fireworks.
“People can get some of this kind of songs in my new album very soon and they should expect nothing but the best,” said the musician.
Thoko further revealed that his album has been delayed due to a recent robbery which affected his musical project.
According to this year’s nominee in Nyasa Music Awards’ Best Gospel Artist, the robbery took place towards the end of last year when several studio equipment such as computers and other materials were stolen.
Thoko’s audience should expect a fusion of Manganje traditional dance with his unmistakable feminine voice and story-telling lyrical prowess that easily captures many a hearts of listeners; not to mention the rich content in the lines.

Ukulu wanu ndauwona/
Chifundo chanu ndachidziwa/
ndipo chinsisi chanu mwandiululira ndekha ndi maso anga”.
Meanwhile, fans are already eagerly anticipating for the single.
“I cannot wait for the single”, commented Matias Laita on his official Facebook page.
According to Katimba the single was recorded at Active Records by Amos Mlolowa.who also did drums. The song also has the Midas hands of guitar wizard, Eric Paliani (lead & Rhythm Guitar), with Chambota Chirwa on Bass guitar, and Dick Kankhunda on melodies.
Katimba has five albums to his belt namely Unasankha ndani? (2006), Werenga Madalitso ako (2008), Ndidzaimabe (2010) Nthambi (2013), and Bakha (2017).
