After his successful singles, Mr yesu, and Mapiko, which he featured Kell Kay, the award winning gospel rapper, Gwamba is releasing another hit, Special, in which he has partnered Wendy Harawa, and his (Gwamba’s) longtime music ally, Emmanuel.
The song, which is being released this Monday, the 13th of November 2017 marks a wrap up of what appears to be another successful musical year for the Lilongwe-based rapper.
In an interview with EM, Gwamba said the song is a reflection of how 2017 has trended to him, and all God-loving Malawians.
“In short, I can say Special reflects how Jesus has taken us all through this years,” he reveals.
When asked why he has worked with Wendy Harawa, Gwamba was quick to say that he has been a longtime admirer of the former so a collabo with her was just a dream-come-true.
“She is a great musician and a great person, she inspired me a lot,” he said.
Special will be the artist’s last song this year. Meanwhile, his song, Mr Yesu was nominated for the Best Gospel song in the forthcoming 2017 UMP Awards.
Despite switching off from secular to gospel genre in 2016, Gwamba continues making headlines musically and he still commands a wider audience as evidenced by multiple awards that have been heading his directions.
