After keeping his fans guessing via various social media interaction, gospel rapper, Khetwayo is finally poised to release a single, Jehovah, late this month, EM can reveal.
Over the past weeks, the artist had been interacting with his fans via the social media in which in one of such interfaces, he had asked them to describe Jehovah (The Almighty) in one word.
The interaction then has finally formed part of his preparation for the release a new single, Jehovah, which, according to sources, is set to drop on 26th of September, 2017
Jehovah, will be Khetwayo’s first release in about two years; having released his last, Anditsogoza album in July 2015.
When asked why he has taken 2 years to release new material, the gifted rapper said he had been focusing on connecting with his fans.
“I’d been focusing on engaging and connecting with my fans across the country. This is why I’d conducted a college tour across Malawi and also organized a free event in April, 2017, he revealed.
Khetwayo further said he had taken his time off to perfect his faith.
“I took a break in music so as to strengthen my faith; the part of my life that informs the type of music I put out.” Said he.
During his two year break from music composition, Khetwayo had established himself as one of the best live acts on the land via his dazzling stage management skills. All these were evident during his 2015-16 college tour across all the major cities in Malawi.
His performances earned him a call up as one of the opening acts for Zambia’s Pompi as well as one of the main acts at this year’s Ufulu Festival held at Civo Stadium.
By engaging his fans in the coining of his new single, as well as in the design of the single’s artwork, music pundits in the country say it is evident he revealing his radical change in direction he has taken on the new song; therefore, his fans should expect to hear something completely new from him.
