Following the successful debut album, So Nostalgic, Mzuzu-based Reggae maestro Leo G, is this year releasing another album, The sky is Never the Limit, it has been learnt.
Leo G came into the limelight with his conscious dancehall reggae rich debut album last year. Since then, he has never relented in upping his musical game. Among others, he has been a regular face in various concerts in Mzuzu rubbing shoulders with the country’s greats, Black Missionaries, and Lucius Banda and his Zembani band.
The previous project, according to the artist, was a success as it met his targets.
“I do positive music to change the world. I still feel that I did my home work just fine and the message was delivered,” said Leo G.
Talking of the forth coming project, EM’s sneak review reveals “The Sky is Never the Limit” has 15 tracks, with reggae dancehall tunes commanding a lion’s share. This is unlike the previous project in which conscious reggae had dominated.
According to Leo G, his 15 track album aims at encouraging youths not to live a parent’s dependent life.
“Overall, the album is encouraging the youths to be self-starters bynot over-relying on their parents in everything they (the youths) do,” he revealed.
The album comprises songs like, Live the life you love, My lalanje, Ndiasankha ndekha (a duet with rising music goddess, Selena), and Party time, among others.
When asked about the release date, Leo G kept his audience guessing by not being specific, but was quick to say progress was being made.
“Later this year, everything will be ready. I’m working on some issues that will help the project have a hype to the nation but I’m very optimistic that this year I will launch it in the same old fashion,”. He said.
Like his previous Album, So Nostalgic, the reggae maestro will launch the album in all the cities of Malawi with the leading reggae band, The Black Missionaries.
