Dream come true! Atusaye Kamanga who rose to fame for conquering 49.2 kilometres from Mzuzu to Nkhata-Bay in aid of orphans at Mzuzu Crisis Nursery has got a huge boost as revered urban music icon, Fredokiss is set to join him in delivering the donated items.
Having accumulated assorted relief materials for the noble course, Atusaye was scheduled to deliver the items to Mzuzu Crisis Nursery at a later date.
It was along the way that Atusaye’s echoes hit the eardrums of the iconic Fredokiss, who through his League for Change movement – has joined the youngster in a colourful ceremony this Saturday, the 9th of November 2019.
The ceremony is to have a big Walk from Katoto ground to Mzuzu Crisis Nursery in Chimaliro to channel the proceeds from Atusaye’s exploits.
Fredokiss’ presence has excited Atusaye who feels greatly honoured to have such a celebrated figure.
“I never knew my small gesture was going to attract such a renowned figure. I’m greatly humbled to have him and his entourage around,” he praised.
The newly formed League for Change is the brainchild of the rapper whose vision is to seeing a Malawi where youths are rebranding themselves into becoming agents for social change.
Fredo reveals Atusaye’s exploits are in line with the core tenets of League for Change.
What Atusaye did on the 12th of October, according to Fredo, was a milestone Malawian youths need to be emulating. It is exactly the ground that League for Change is standing for.
“League for Change is a group of young people with vision and it’s aimed at coming together and sharing ideas on how best we can create a generation with a difference in our societies. Atusaye’s gesture is in line with the goals, objectives and vision of our league hence the decision to join hands with him in this noble cause.” He reveals.
Meanwhile, Fredo has called upon goodwilled Malawians who are going to be in Mzuzu on this day to come in their large numbers and be part of this entourage.
“I am urging all residents around Mzuzu to come in large numbers and support the noble cause. I also appeal to all Malawians of good will to join hands with us and do something to bail out Mzuzu Crisis Nursery as it is failing to develop courtesy of financial hiccups. Our assistance can make a difference,” he pleaded.
In October, prior to his fun run, Atusaye Kamanga had called upon well-wishers to donate generously towards the cause of bailing out Mzuzu Crisis Nursery which cares for orphans and other vulnerable children in and around Mzuzu.
As the day draws closer, doors are still open for further contributions.
