It’s every artist’s dream to be a headline in major music concert, to cheer up his fans and entertain a gigantic audience, “put your hands in the air!” every guy behind the mic dreams to be on that stage.
Like all musicians, chasing the dream is 20 year old Lilongwe based RnB Artist-Maxwell Mwanza stage name Maxlee. Motivated by his two collaborations with Annie Matumbi and Kapadocia, Max dreams big to enter the league of professionals.
According to Max who was recently signed by Third Maturity records and TWB records, the next two years will be decisive to make a grade in the industry.
“My goals 2 years from now are to become well-known artist in Malawi and also be an artist who is going to motive my fellow up and coming artists, so too is producing mature music of international standard,” he dreams.
At a tender age of 20, growing up in a ghettos like Area 24, it is always a hard nut to crack for Max-Lee as demotivating statements from his friends and financial challenges had grown its roots blocking his career path.
Despite that, Max says: “I stay positive in whatever am doing, they talk about my songs, my voice, low finding but from all these, I only get positive feedbacks to help me grow from people who believe in me.”
Max further called on heavyweights in the Music industry to consider promoting budding artists for smooth transition of art in the country.
“My appeal to those established artists is that they should give some space to up-and-coming artists so that they can portray their talents though music and they should give support to the upcoming artist.” He appeals.
Meanwhile, golden voice Joe Kellz is running a competition that has seen him collaborating with Max Lee’s for the latter’s exposure.
Max-Lee started his music journey at the age of 8, then at 16 he braved all odds to work with professional producers, D-Win and King Duda.
