Childhood dreams of one Joyce Gondwe of turning into a professional urban music artist took another giant step as she, trading as Tacy Slim in the musical circles, clinched a one year record deal with Silver Lining Music company.
Tacy Slim landed her gold on Monday as she put pen to paper, allowing Silver Lining Music to manage all her musical life for the agreed period.
According to the blue print that EM has seen, the first half of the period will aim at making Tacy Slim brand get established in the urban music circles. This will involve all but not limited to the teenager releasing a number of songs and their accompanying music videos as well as making collabo with some of the established urban music artists locally.
Signing the contract at a private ceremony in Mzuzu, Tacy Slim says she is geared to make her name a recognizable brand locally.
“I wanna do all I can to make myself a force to reckon with. I’m happy with the contractual obligations that have been laid down here.” She proclaims.
In his remarks, a representative of Silver Lining Music Label, Gibson Kamanga says his firm was happy with Tacy’s eagerness to swell higher musically. He says it was a deliberate move for SLM to mark its entry into the industry with a lesser known artist.
“We’re impressed that despite her biological age, she showed serious interest in pushing her music further. So we felt we should start off our journey with her so that by the end of the contractual period, we should be able to judge ourselves if we’ve really managed to satisfy all of her expectations. In that way, that’s when shall we deemed a serious player in the game,” he elucidated.
Meanwhile, reports indicate Tacy Slim is already rehearsing for her debut (yet-to-be named) song under Silver Lining Music.
