It’s finally here! The usual Mlambe Motel is the venue. Same old usual suspects; Phyzix, Martse and enterprising Waxy K are all geared to rock!
The journey that started a couple of months ago in which It’s Only Entertainment- a recording label under the tutelage of legendary Phyzix embarked on unearthing raw musical talents in and around Balaka if finally reaching its climax today, Sunday the 25th of November 2018.
Balaka Got Talent was a musical competition in which up and coming talents were battling each other to see who’s got the bragging rights around Balaka. 25 contestants started it all. By each passing month end, the weakest links were being shown the exit door.
Now, only ten are remaining. By the end of business hours of today, one will emerge victorious. Who will it be? Will it be Primax? Damzy K? JK Swaggaboi? G1? Tyrance Africa? Trigho? Real Gangstaz? Cobra? Rik T? Or will it be the energetic Stinza Aguan?
Today is the judgement day!
By the end of business hours, the winner will go back home MK300 thousand richer. That is not all. The winner will also see their musical dream metamorphosing into reality over night as they will have a collabo with the legendary Phyzix.
In our earlier interviews during the wee hours of the talent identification show, Phyzix had said the choice of Balaka was as a result of overwhelming response It’s Only Entertainment received some time back after it had a musical concert.
“The response we got from Balaka was so overwhelming. We just fell in love with the district and we’d wanted to give it back through this event,” he said.
Concurring with Phyzo, IOE’s crew member and event organiser, Agrippa also revealed that the said earlier show saw a lot of requests from up and coming artists from Balaka who wanted to have a collabo with their legend.
“After we did our first show in November 2017, we received an overwhelming response from the artists based there. They showed interest to work with us. They wanted to do a collaboration with It’s Only Entertainment CEO Phyzix, hence the competition to choose the best.” He explained.
The show was free for any interested raw talent to register. Every month end, elimination shows were taking place at Mlambe Motel. During all these stages, revered urban music artists formed part of the judges choosing the best, as others were shown marching orders. Only those that were registered were allowed to showcase their talents.
And the fruits of the talent show are already showing signs of ripening. According to Agrippa, from the first episode up to now, the progress looks so promising.
“These shows have helped them in confidence. Now, some believe in themselves. We have told them to work hard in school. And we haven’t closed the door for them. Anyone who comes to us with a good song we will surely help them.” Agrippa said.
