Local gospel musician, Allan Chirwa has bounced back from the musical doldrums and is launching a ten track album called The spirituals at COMESA Hall this Friday, the 27th of April.
The Ebenezer hit maker is making a comeback after being silent for over four years. His last release was in 2014.
In an interview, the artist said it has taken him this long to come up with the album because he wanted to give his fans the best.
“I always take time to drop albums because I always strive for excellence. Believe me, this new album is full of anointing and people will be transformed after listening to its message.” Says he.
Allan said during the four-year sabbatical, he was engaged in other equally life-profiting personal ventures.
“I was also busy with other personal ventures despite that I wanted to concentrate on this project so that I should produce quality sound to transform and bring impacts to many souls, globally,” he explained.
He further said that all songs that are in the album are full of scriptures and guided by the holy spirit and people at the launch should expect great change in their lives.
Affirms Chirwa: “People should expect to hear my new songs, and it’s my prayer as a gospel artist that God will minister to many souls of people through this album.”
This will be Chirwa’s third album after release of Kufanana naye in 2010, and Ebenezzar in 2014.
The Spirituals has songs like Mtima wambuyako, Yankho, M’khale nane, Chisomo chake, and wandidalitsa among others. The album also has guest artists like Nyasha Kamilayi, and Sam Maliza.
The album was recorded in Cape Town, South Africa at Joesha Records by Joe Mmangisa and backed by Nyasha Kumilayi, and Hento Masupayi. It was mixed by Joseph Tembo at Groove Magic studio in Blantyre.
Chirwa’s longtime friend and artist Patience Namadingo, who is to spice up the launch, saysheis geared to dish out the best.
“We are very ready for this show; we are looking forward to helping in the show as you know Allan is a seasoned musician and we are expecting a lot of people to come and patronize this show”, said Namadingo.
