There was jam packed action in week 11 of SIMSO league as teams were on the field in search for maximum points and it was only the strong who got away with all the much needed results.
With all the attempts on goal from the 15 teams which were in action over the weekend, only 27 shots managed to kiss the back of the net.
No complaint and violence during the week 11 of action in the league was recorded by the officials.
Now let us take a look at what transpired during week 11 of action in our esteemed league in on various desert like pitches in the region.
In Mzuzu, Mchengautuba United welcomed Chilumba United at Mchengautuba ground where both teams were looking for maximum points to improve their status on the standings. After 90 minutes of play, the match ended in a 1 all draw.
Still in Mzuzu, there was a battle of pride at Zolozolo, as hosts Zolozolo United welcomed cross city rivals Luwinga United. The match ended in favor of Luwinga United who managed to beat the struggling Zolozolo side by 2 goals to nil. The result makes the hosts to anchor the log table.
In Mzimba, rejuvenated Kabwafu United played host to Rumphi United in Kabwafu as the home side were looking for their second successive win. The home side managed to hold on to their nerves as they edged out their counterparts 3-2.
In Rumphi, Katowo Young Soccer was at home against new boys Mbawa FC in a match which the home side dominated the proceedings as they got the better of their opponents by beating them by a 3 goal margin.
In Nkhatabay, the debutants welcomed the soldiers, Chilumba Barracks at Mkondezi ground where the match was evenly marched. In the end, the Scorpions of Vinthukutu had the last laugh as they edged the hosts by 2 goals to nil.
In Chitipa, high flying leaders Chitipa United, who are yet to test defeat in the league, welcomed impressive Manyamula FC at Base ground where the log leaders played their cards well to pull out an obvious result to beat Manyamula by 3 goals to 1.
In Mzimba, Thunduwike were at home against Rumphi United. The home boys used their advantage by upsetting their visitors with 3 goals to 1. The result means Rumphi United has only managed to travel back home with 3 goals instead of three points.
There was drama in the capital city of the northern region Mzuzu, as Careworn Fish Eagles were playing against Chilumba United at Mzuzu stadium. The visitors pulled a dramatic comeback from 3 nil down to edge the host 4-3.
Few kilometers away, Mchengautuba United faced Chilumba Barracks where the visitors were looking forward to collect the maximum points to wrap up their away assignments with 6 points in the bag to Vinthukutu. The home side, however proved a hard nut to crack as the match ended goalless.
In Rumphi, Bolero United were looking forward to continue with their impressive run as they hosted wounded soldiers Mbawa FC at Bolero ground. The home side left no stone unturned as they beat the debutants by 3 goals to nil.
